With permission from the Italian Ministry, the Politecnico di Milano bestowed the PhD honoris causa in Information Technology to R.E Kalman. The degree was presented to Mrs. Dina Kalman, in a ceremony held at the Department of Electronics, Information Technology and Bioengineering on 12 September 2016, since Kalman passed away on 2 July 2016, before the degree could be awarded to him personally.
